Taxpocket update

TaxPocket is an app for tax professionals to give to their clients. It helps taxpayers keep track of their mileage, business expenses and receipts. When they're ready, taxpayers can securely send their tax documents to their trusted tax preparer via the app.

I was tasked with updating the look of the logo, creating the website and rebranding the app.

logo redesign

Since the app was acquired by an established tax association, I used their branded colors and fonts. Within the logo, the pocket contains commonly used tax professional tools to help draw the app's connection with it being a tool for tax preparers.

website

This product has two types of users—tax professionals and taxpayers. Tax professionals can subscribe so their clients can use the app to track and submit tax-related expenses. Individual taxpayers can use the app to track their tax-related expenses and receive the information via email.

I created the site to show the features of the app based on those user groups. They'd simply specify if they were a tax professional or taxpayer to view the pages that were relevant to them.

App rebrand

When updating the visuals within the app to better match the updated brand, I also reviewed it for UX improvements. I led small-scale user testing to better understand users' pain points. Then, I created mockups to not only update the aesthetics but to illustrate my suggestions for UX improvements to the developers. From there, I worked with the developers to make the UI more consistent.
